Saturday morning is the open air market in Orvieto. We just happened to be there by chance. As markets go, it’s not a huge one, but there’s nothing like it here at home. Aside from fresh food and porchetta
, they mostly sell clothing, belts, scarves, handbags and house wares. Prices are low; there’s very little overhead, except maybe an umbrella.
Italian markets are wonderful.
Incredibly, I found a pair of slacks that actually fit me! How did I know that, you ask? I tried them on in the “dressing room,” otherwise known as the van that brought all the merchandise to market. I waited my turn, slipped in, and they slid the door shut behind me. (Click on first photo on the left, above.)
