“Sally’s First Quilt” mixes scraps of wool, polyester, rubber-backed drapery fabric, and orange fabric cut into two different sizes of rectangles. “I had to take a tuck or two to make the rows fit together,” confesses #444-444 of Chandler, Arizona.
If that wasn’t enough to impress the judges, patching what looks and feels like nylon trico with wool and then washing the quilt, certainly did. (Click on small picture.)
After awarding it the “Most Distorted Block Award,” judges commented that they had never before seen a single block attempt to suck up an entire quilt!
