Cut to the chase: The Beam N Read
light is a great way to light up your lap. Hang it around your neck and point the six very bright LED lights exactly where you need them. It's totally portable (they run on batteries) or use the optional wall plug and car cord for home and car. They make great gifts for you or Mom. Or Dad, or your aunt Sophie…Buy all 3 and save!
THE YO-YO SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTIES
The weather is warming right up. Last week we may have had snow, but I have high hopes for May temperatures to get above 60 degrees so I can play with dye outside and not freeze my fingers off. Have you sent in your panties?
We have a new postman and he's been very curious about the squishy packages arriving almost daily. Can't wait to invite him to the backyard to see all the brightly colored underpants drying in the pine tree on "Dye Day!"
I've been making more movies! There are two selections for you this month. The first is the AAQI's commercial for the traveling exhibit called "Alzheimer's Illustrated: From Heartbreak to Hope." Please watch it on the AAQI home page
, where you can also jump to the May online quilt auction, now in full swing:
The second is a video I shot at breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express when I was teaching for Longmont Quilt Guild last month. Keep reading…
You can see the "Pancake Movie" on my FaceBook page. Like
my page by clicking the "thumbs up" icon and join my little community of quilters on FaceBook. If you're already a "fan" look for the link to the movie. I just posted it this morning, in time for brunch.

See my Teaching Schedule

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
There are two new entries on this page.
Stitched is a documentary following three quilters completing their entries for the 2010 International Quilt Festival. Three "controversial" quilters are featured: Caryl Bryer Fallert was the first to win a major prize for her quilt made with a sewing machine. She mentored Hollis Chatelain, who caused a stir when she won an award for a dye-painted quilt. Hollis mentored Randall Cook who sparked controversy with his quilt of a male nude.
See this 72-minute documentary here:
- Paducah, KY (Maiden Alley Cinema) May 1
- Houston, TX (Museum of Fine Arts) June 1-2
- Long Beach, CA (International Quilt Festival) July 29-30
