I was just itching to get the pattern and had already purchased the fabric at Joanne's, the only fabric shop near me. I bought a batik in jewel tone colors of fuchsia, turquoise, gold, some purple and a bit of olive green. The worst part of the construction was marking the fabric every inch. It was very interesting to sew the strips on as well as time consuming. I worked on the project for six days. I have short arms and had to do some shortening of the cuff, which I did not match so it looks really neat. I am still thinking of hand sewing a pocket or two on the inside. Can hardly wait for cool weather to wear it. I took it to show relatives and had plenty of fuzz to clean out of the car! I have worn it once with a purple tee-shirt. I worked on it for six days and just had to finish before a week.
