Recently, my daughter left the nest, and I thought I'd redecorate her room as a spare bedroom. When I casually mentioned this to my twin, she looked at me like I was crazy and suggested that I take it over as a sewing room. I started hinting to my DH that very day. Until then, my sewing room was in a tiny 8' by 10' room in the basement--but it overflowed into the main area and was so unsightly that my DH would pass it with fingers crossed protectively in front of him. I planned out every inch of the much larger space and fit everything in: four embroidery/sewing machines, laptop computer, quilting table with WOW long-arm quilting machine, stereo, TV/DVD/VCR, comfy chair, cutting table and a press iron. You can't see the whole closet from this view, but it's 7' by 11' —almost the same size as my original room! Now, I beg my DH to lock me in, but he likes the room so much he's hanging out in it. Maybe it's time to let it get really messy?
