Grab a cool drink and I'll tell you what's going on with me!

Our new Golden Retriever rescue dog, Scooter, has been with us since the end of June and he's making progress. It's a lot like having a toddler running around the house, but louder and way faster.

Scooter has blogged again.

He's on FaceBook.

And he made a video.

Busy dog.

I get to be a guest on Creative Mojo with Mark Lipinski this Wednesday, August 3rd. Anyone with a computer (and speakers) can listen in. Mark's show is live from 3pm- 5pm (EST). Go to and click the LIVE ON AIR button to listen in.

I should be on some time around 3:20pm to 3:34pm. Podcasts should be available so you can listen later.

Twenty quilts from the first traveling exhibit about Alzheimer's are up for auction from now until August 10th. When "Alzheimer's: Forgetting Piece by Piece" retired at the end of last year, many of the artists donated their quilts to the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative.

We are trying to turn them into dollars for research.

This is a great opportunity to help fight Alzheimer's and own a quilt that has touched the hearts of more than 300,000 people. Please bid generously; all profits fund Alzheimer's research.

I'll be teaching for the Quilter's Guild Acadienne in Lafayette, LA at the end of August. For more information, email Mary at

In September I'll be teaching at Quilt Expo in Madison, Wisconsin. "Alzheimer's Illustrated: From Heartbreak to Hope" will be there too! I'll be presenting "Quilting & Caring: The Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative" (Q11AG-F) at 8:30am on Friday. Sign up here.

Join me at 6pm Friday evening for "How NOT To Make A Prize-Winning Quilt" (Event Q11SE6-F). Get tickets here.

And, on Saturday at 8:30am you get to see me dressed Amish for my presentation on the Old Order Amish (Q11AG-S). Purchase tickets here.

Erin Meharg created a pendant with Madison's image etched in it for me. What a wonderful gift. Thank you Erin!

"Stitched," the 72- minute documentary that follows quilters Hollis Chatelain, Caryl Bryer Fallert, and Randall Cook racing to complete their quilts for International Quilt Festival 2010 will be shown in San Antonio on August 6th and 7th and at International Quilt Festival November 3 and 5th. For more details, see:

It's sure been a hot, hot summer. Stay cool and be well. I'll be in your email box again on September 1st.

In the meantime, I'll keep you up-to-date on FaceBook.

Please forward me to a friend,
